Since Apple's adapter and charger offer is not very wide, we sometimes have no choice but to reach for third-party solutions that can satisfy our needs. Unfortunately, these solutions are not always 100% reliable in terms of safety, which is now also the case with the charger of the Swedish furniture giant IKEA. It was he who started warning about USB chargers on his website in recent days ÅSKSTORM, which in extreme cases can cause health damage to its user. And since we know that among the readers of our magazine there are also fans of IKEA electronics, since these are cheap and, with some exceptions, reliable solutions, it is not out of place to draw your attention to possible problems in this way.

On its website, IKEA specifically informs about the defective charger as follows:

IKEA asks all customers who own the ÅSKSTORM USB charger (40 W, dark grey, product number: 50461193) to stop using it and contact IKEA for a full refund.

Product safety is one of IKEA's top priorities, which is why it is withdrawing the ÅSKSTORM (40 W, dark gray) USB charger from sale. The power cord can be damaged or broken if the user frequently wraps it around the charger or bends it. A damaged cable may cause burns or electric shock. Therefore, the ÅSKSTORM USB charger (40 W, dark gray) is being recalled from sale.

The ÅSKSTORM USB charger (40 W, dark gray) can be identified by the model number ICPSW5-40-1, which is located on the label on the back of the USB charger.

You can return the ÅSKSTORM USB charger (40 W, dark grey) to any IKEA store for a full refund. We do not require proof of purchase (receipt).

You can get more information at IKEA.cz or on the IKEA hotline at +420 296 181 650.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the withdrawal of the product from sale.
