Apple's iBookstore has a competitor. On June 17, 2013, Google announced on its official blog for the Czech Republic the availability of content extensions in the form of Google Play Books.
Users get:
…access to more than 2 million books from around the world, including news, bestsellers and classics, in different languages. The offer will gradually be enriched with books in Czech.
The Grada publishing house was the first to show interest in selling its titles through Google Play.
Books can be viewed, purchased (download free titles as well) or read on the website play.google.com/store/books. The application is intended for mobile devices Google Play Books, which is available for Android and iOS.

I like iBooks, I buy books quite often. However, Google set me off right from the start - after 10 minutes I couldn't figure out how to search for the book and I really won't recommend it. I'm sure it works somehow, but I'm disgusted that I have to look up how it's done. I'm starting to admire people who have an android, because if google approaches it the same as it does its library... Among other things, the application is also so strange, so back to iBooks.
