In the case of portable devices such as iPhones, iPads and MacBooks, their battery life is often an issue. It is the endurance itself that is often the target of criticism. Apple according to the latest information from the portal DigiTimes wants to solve this problem effectively, which will be helped by the use of smaller internal components. The free space will then be able to be used by the larger accumulator.

iPhone 13 concept:

Specifically, the giant from Cupertino is preparing to adopt the so-called IPD or integrated passive devices for peripheral chips in its products, which will not only reduce their size, but also increase their efficiency. In any case, the primary reason for this change is to make room for a larger battery pack. These components should traditionally be supplied by TSMC, which will be supplemented by Amkor. In addition, the demand for these peripheral chips has been growing rapidly recently. In any case, the published report does not provide any more detailed information about when this change could actually be adopted. Even so, Apple has already agreed to cooperate with TSMC on the mass production of components for iPhones and iPads. In the near future, even MacBooks could arrive.

According to various leaks and speculations, this year's line of Apple phones, the iPhone 13, should even offer larger batteries, due to which the individual models will also be slightly thicker. Based on this information, at the same time, a debate is starting about whether the change will not appear already this year. For example, the iPhone 13 Pro (Max) is supposed to offer a ProMotion display with a 120Hz refresh rate and always-on support, which of course requires a lot of energy. That is why there is talk of a better and more economical the functioning of the A15 Bionic chip and a larger battery. The introduction of new models should take place in September, thanks to which we will soon know what news Apple has prepared for us this year.
