What we've been waiting for practically a whole year is finally here. When Apple introduced new machines with Apple Silicon chips last November, it completely changed the technological world in its own way. Specifically, Apple came up with the M1 chip, which is extremely powerful, but at the same time economical. This was also found out by the users themselves, who highly praise this chip. Today, Apple is coming out with two brand new chips, the M1 Pro and the M1 Max. Both of these chips are, as the name suggests, intended for real professionals. Let's look at them together.

M1 Pro chip

The first new chip that Apple introduced is the M1 Pro. This chip offers a memory throughput of up to 200 GB/s, which is several times more than the original M1. As for the maximum operating memory, up to 32 GB is available. This SoC combines the CPU, GPU, Neural Engine and the memory itself into a single chip, which is processed by a 5nm manufacturing process and has up to 33.7 billion transistors. It also offers up to 10 cores in the case of the CPU – 8 of which are high-performance and 2 are economical. The graphics accelerator offers up to 16 cores. Compared to the original M1 chip, it is 70% more powerful, of course while maintaining economy.

Chip M1 Max

Most of us expected to see the introduction of one new chip. But Apple surprised us again - it has been doing extremely well lately. In addition to the M1 Pro, we also received the M1 Max chip, which is even more powerful, economical and better compared to the first one introduced. We can mention memory throughput of up to 400 GB/s, users will be able to configure up to 64 GB of operating memory. Like the M1 Pro, this chip has 10 CPU cores, of which 8 are powerful and 2 are energy efficient. However, the M1 Max differs in the case of the GPU, which has a full 32 cores. This makes the M1 Max up to four times faster than the original M1. Thanks to the new Media Engine, users are then able to render video up to twice as fast. In addition to performance, Apple has of course not forgotten about economy, which is preserved. According to Apple, the M1 Max is up to 1.7 times more powerful than the most powerful processors for computers, but up to 70% more economical. We can also mention support for up to 4 external displays.
