Recently, Apple has been trying in every possible way to encourage users to switch to the latest iPhone models, most often to the cheaper iPhone XR. We already last month informed, that the company has started sending unsolicited notifications to selected users. Among them was the announcement of a more advantageous transition to a new phone through the iPhone Upgrade Program. But the more aggressive marketing strategy continues in the new year. This time, however, Apple has used the email newsletter method and is targeting owners of older iPhones directly.
On the discussion board Reddit one user boasted in an email in which Apple encouraged him to switch to the iPhone XR. At first glance, this is not at all interesting information, because the company sends newsletters to all registered users from time to time. In this case, however, the content of the message is unusually targeted at a specific customer. In the e-mail, Apple compares the iPhone XR with the iPhone 6 Plus, which the user owns and has not yet switched to a newer model.
For example, Apple highlights that the iPhone XR is up to three times faster than the iPhone 6 Plus. He also mentioned that although the XR is slightly smaller, it has a significantly larger display. There was also a comparison of Touch ID with Face ID, where the latter method is said to be safer and more user-friendly. Of course, there is also a mention of better battery life, durable glass, a better camera or, for example, water resistance.
The highly targeted email even includes a specific redemption price that the user will receive when they upgrade the program. Currently, the company offers up to twice the amount for the old phone, by which the price of the new model will be reduced. In the case of the iPhone 6 Plus, customers will now receive a discount of $200 on the new model, instead of the original $100. However, the promotion is limited in time and only valid in some countries - it does not apply to the Czech market.
So the only thing that would somehow attract me is the display. But if I assume that I will see the same thing on it as on my seven, then it's really not worth the money, that is, as long as it serves.
Apple must be really desperate to stoop to something like this. It probably doesn't occur to them that the more they beg and persuade someone to buy their iPhone, the less people will do it. Most iPhone users bought it to be something extra. What sense of uniqueness will they have from a phone whose manufacturer has to beg everyone around to buy it?
Well, I wanted to write something similar, but once is enough here, and am I insulting the fanatics this time?
I don't understand why xr was created. Those who have 7,8 don't want it because it's bigger than 8,7 - women don't want XS because it's too expensive, plus I hear from people that they don't like the fat frame of XR. It's just not a good successor to the 7,8 in terms of size and design.
It currently has the best Samsung phones
I am a satisfied iPhone XR 128GB user. And I don't feel poor or stupid. My mobile phone cost 700 Euros from the operator. I was switching with an iPhone 7+ 128GB.
Every time I pass by iStyle, I wink at him. I had more time yesterday, so I'm comparing XS, XR, XS Max. Whatever anyone says, for me the XR has a better display than the XS. XS is really quite yellowish. I also focused on the much-discussed resolution, and I really didn't notice that the font was somehow skeletal. I had the same pages open with the same content and significantly better white on the XR. Black is better for XS. I probably wouldn't mind the absence of Force touch at all, now I don't have it on SE either, but that's a shame. Mainly I think it's a pretty good thing and Apple should have it everywhere. It's like this somewhere, somewhere not. Unnecessary complication for developers. But unfortunately the biggest problem is size and weight. Those who switch from plus models will get better, but next to the SE it's really crazy big. I just wore shorts to work today and wore the SE all day. Seamlessly. In looser pants, I've found myself forgetting about the SE and returning home to get my phone while still having it in my pocket. However, the SE looks really antediluvian next to the XS, XR and XS Max. I only use my phone when I'm out and about. Whenever I'm anywhere else, I pull out my iPad. So I don't care about the size of the display and I'm used to using the Internet or navigation on the SE. In addition, I don't understand why Apple cut the landscape mode that was on the plus iPhones? The new iPhones have displays like a cow, but when you lay it down, the icons don't rotate. Really a shame. Personally, I would take something more modern than SE. Mainly for durability. I have SE connected to AW all the time, Airpods very often. So Bluetooth and location services are always on. I do a lot of things on my iPad and still charge it every day. If I drive for a while to navigate or listen to Airpods for a long time, it is not a problem to charge it twice a day. Probably the SE has an older BT protocol and also an older and more ravenous processor. But with these dimensions and weight, I am currently unable to choose a phone. I don't really care about money, but if Apple did something with a display from say 2 to max 5 inches with the current design, I would be the first in the store.
