The launch of the long-awaited streaming service Apple TV+ is slowly but surely approaching, so more and more new information about it is appearing on the web. The latest beta version of macOS Catalina has once again revealed several new clues that indicate how the service will work, especially with regard to some user services such as offline playback or simultaneous viewing on several different devices.

In macOS Catalina, we managed to find a few new lines of code that hint at some functional elements of the upcoming streaming platform. For example, it has been revealed that Apple TV+ will offer support for downloading content and watching it offline. However, there will be several functional limitations associated with this, which should prevent abuse of this feature.

For example, Apple will limit how many files an individual user can download in offline mode. Likewise, a kind of download limit will be set for specific items. For example, it will not be possible to download several episodes of a series or several films in advance, just as it will not be possible to download a film multiple times, on several devices. However, it is not yet clear what numbers Apple will set for the above restrictions. However, it can be expected that, for example, it will not be possible to download the same movie 10 times, for example. Or to maintain an offline collection of 30 downloaded episodes of the series.

As soon as the user encounters any of the above-mentioned limits, information will appear on the device that if he wants to download more parts, he must remove others from other connected devices. The stream should work the same way, where the restriction will most likely depend on the specific variant of the subscription (similar to Netflix).

Once the user reaches the limit of the maximum number of streaming channels, they will be informed that if they want to start streaming on their device, they must turn it off on one of the previous ones. As with offline downloads, it's not clear how Apple will ultimately set the limits. It can be expected that Apple will offer several levels of subscription, which will differ in the number of active streaming channels or the permitted volume of downloaded data.
