Supporters of ecology and environmental protection will certainly be delighted, but owners of a smaller number of accessories will not. Apple stated at today's Keynote that it will not include a power adapter or wired EarPods with the iPhone 12. The Californian giant justified this fact by saying that thanks to this step, it will be able to reduce carbon emissions, and in addition, the packaging will be smaller in volume, which certainly has a positive impact on the environment in terms of simpler logistics. According to Apple, this step will save 2 million tons of carbon per year, which is certainly not an insignificant part.
Apple Vice President Lisa Jackson stated that there are more than 2 billion power adapters in the world, so it would be unnecessary to include them in the packaging. Another reason for the removal, according to Apple, is that more and more customers are switching to wireless charging. In the package of new iPhones, you will only find a charging cable, with a Lightning connector on one side and USB-C on the other, but you will have to purchase the adapter and EarPods separately if you need them.
iPhone 12:
Whether this is a misstep or a marketing move on the part of Apple, or on the contrary a step in the right direction, only time will tell how the iPhone 12 will be sold. Apple is implementing exactly the same approach as in the case of the Apple Watch, and in my opinion it definitely makes sense. Personally, I wouldn't decide whether to buy a phone based on that, but on the other hand, it's also true that most users still don't own an adapter or a computer with USB-C, so they'll have to invest in a new adapter for their phone, or use a different charger.
- Newly introduced Apple products will be available for purchase at, for example Alge, Mobile Emergency or u iStores
Even though I'm a supporter of Apple, the idea that a person buys a phone worth a laptop and I don't give him headphones or even a charger for that money. It's already sad enough, and it's even sadder that they hide behind ecology, while they only care about money. Because if they were concerned about ecology, they probably wouldn't be able to produce them in the cinema. Cina on ecology from above se... .
In the interest of ecology, remove the headphones and adapter from the package and leave the USB-C -> lightning cable there. Only last year's iPhones had such an adapter. So the fact that they rolled a billion of them at home (I take it purely from Apple) is a big deal, they didn't sell that many last year.
Ecology or profit? I take both into account and, with exceptions, I buy used and even then I skip several generations. To this day, I still don't understand the annual release of products and systems, which are then tweaked, updated, and before that happens, replaced with a new model and everything goes round and round again.
in this case, a marketing move. It is impossible to talk about ecology. I don't have a PC with USB-C, I only have USB in my car. In other words, they could also shove the cable in their pr...e. Rather, the question is whether and how old chargers can be used, since they have left us at least the Lightning connector
