Web applications

Safari on your Mac lets you create an app from any web page that appears in the dock. The Safari web app is a little different from a normal page in Safari because it doesn't store any history, cookies, or other data about websites. It's also more streamlined, with only three buttons: back, forward and share. For example, if you're using a streaming site that doesn't have its own app, you can create one in just a few clicks. Launch Safari and navigate to the desired web page. Click on share icon and select in the menu that appears Add to Dock. After that, you only need to name and confirm the newly created web application.

Creating profiles

Among other things, profiles in Safari - both on Mac and iPhone - are a great way to separate Internet browsing for work, personal or perhaps study purposes. These profiles allow you to save completely different sets of Safari preferences. Browsing history, bookmarks, cookies and website data are only stored within your profile, so sites you visit in your work profile, for example, will not appear in your personal profile history. To create a new profile, launch Safai, click on the bar at the top of the screen Safari -> Settings and click the tab in the settings window Profiles. Choose Start using profiles and follow the instructions on the screen.

Groups of panels

If you don't want to use profiles, you can use panel groups to keep your browsing organized. Groups allow you to group collections of panels together. When you open a group, only the cards saved within that group will be displayed. You can create any number of different panel groups that will sync across Apple devices. To create a new group of panels, launch Safari and click on in the left part of the window sidebar icon. At the top right of the sidebar, click on new panel group icon and choose whether to create a new empty panel group or to include open panels in the newly created group.

Picture in picture

Are you doing some work on your Mac that requires you to watch a tutorial video, for example? Then you will definitely appreciate the ability to play videos in the Safari browser in Picture-in-Picture mode. Just launch the video in Safari and then move to address bar to the top of the browser window, where you click on amplifier icon. Simply choose from the menu that appears Run picture-in-picture.

Quick mass closing of panels

If you find that you have too many tabs open, you may not like having to close each one manually. The good news is you don't have to. You can quickly close multiple tabs in Safari with a few clicks. Tap right-click on the tab, which you want to keep open. To close all other tabs except the current one, select the option Close other tabs. To close all tabs to the right of the current one, select the option Close the tabs on the right.
