Paste without formatting

When you select some text on your Mac, press Command + C you copy it to the clipboard and press the key Cmd+V you insert it with any formatting. If you prefer to paste the copied text elsewhere as plain text, use the key combination Cmd + Option (Alt) + Shift + V, and the text will be stripped of all formatting.

View calendar events as a list

Some calendar apps allow you to view all upcoming events as a vertical list. This way of viewing is often better than looking at the regular calendar interface, as it gives a quick overview of their entire schedule for the coming days and months. To view events as a list in the native Calendar on Mac, click the box Search in the upper right corner of the Calendar window and enter two double quotes ("") to generate a list of all upcoming events. This makes it easy to copy multiple events and paste them into other applications in chronological order.

Abort copying

When you copy a large file or folder to another location in the Finder using the Copy and Paste options, a circular progress bar will appear next to the name of the copied item to let you know how long the copy will take. If it seems like it's taking longer than you'd like, you can always pause the copy and resume it later. If you stop the copy with X buttons, an incomplete version of the file or folder will remain in the destination location. Just click on it and you will be presented with the option to complete the copy, or you can keep the copy with the option to restore and complete the transfer at another more convenient time.

Fast image conversion

You can convert images on Mac to another format using third-party applications, in the native Preview, but also easily and quickly in the menu through Quick Actions. Just right-click on an image or a selection of multiple images and choose from the menu that appears Quick Actions -> Convert Image.

Find and replace in filenames

Similar to documents, you can use Find and Replace for files and folders in the Finder for more efficient renaming. When you mark multiple files in the Finder, you can rename them all using the option Rename after right-clicking. The Rename dialog also allows you to rename only specific files in the selection whose names contain certain identifying text. This is really useful if you have dozens or hundreds of files in a folder with different names and you want to change only those files that contain a certain word.
