Play music offline

Apple Music is a streaming service at its core, but you can listen to music even when you don't have a network connection. In order to do so, you must download the music to your device. The only limit to the amount of music downloaded is the storage space on the device. Just find a song, album or playlist, tap on icon of three dots in a circle in the upper right corner and in the menu that appears, tap on Download.

Lossless and others

The entire Apple Music catalog is available in AAC format by default. However, by turning on lossless audio, it is possible to listen to Apple Music in higher quality at no additional cost. You can choose to play 24-bit/48kHz music through the HomePod, or you can even choose 24-bit/192kHz high-resolution lossless audio, but you'll need specialized equipment for that. Run on iPhone to activate higher quality playback Settings -> Music, and in the Sound section, tap Sound quality. Then activate the item here Lossless sound.

Collaboration on playlists

If you have iOS 17.3 or later installed on your iPhone, you can also collaborate on playlists with friends or family, both existing and newly created. Just tap on the given playlist three dots icon in the upper right corner and in the menu that appears, click on Collaboration. Activate the item if you want Approve participants, and tap on Start a collaboration. Subsequently, all you have to do is select other participants.

Equalizer

Apple Music also offers a few hidden equalizer settings that can have a big impact on your listening quality. Within the equalizer, you can choose from several preset equalizer options designed for different types of music or listening circumstances. On iPhone, run Settings -> Music. In the section Sound click on Equalizer and then select your preferred profile.

Apple Music Classical

You can listen to classical music in Apple Music, but finding the right one can be a challenge. This is because classical music is not as clearly divided into categories as popular music. You can easily find the latest pop hits by searching by artist, track title or album, but with classical music there may be multiple recordings of the same piece by different orchestras, soloists and conductors. If you want to listen to classical music, just download and install the free Apple Music Classical app, which is free for Apple Music subscribers. You can find your favorite classical music tracks in no time, and you can even create playlists that automatically appear in the standard Apple Music app.
