Apple AirPods are among the most popular headphones in the world, and together with the Apple Watch, they are the most popular wearable accessories ever. You can currently buy the second generation of classic AirPods, and as for AirPods Pro, the first generation is still available. However, according to available information, the third or second generation is approaching - perhaps we will see it at today's conference. Below we have prepared for you a total of 5 settings that are worth changing on the new AirPods - if you are planning to buy them.

Name change

When you connect your AirPods to your iPhone for the first time, they are automatically assigned a name. This name consists of your name, a hyphen, and the word AirPods (Pro). If for some reason you don't like this name, you can change it very easily. To begin with, you need to connect your AirPods to your iPhone. Once you've done that, go to Settings, where you open the section Bluetooth and then press on the right side of your AirPods. Finally, just tap on at the top Name, which at will rewrite

Control reset

You can very easily control both AirPods and AirPods Pro without touching your iPhone. The first option is control using Siri, when you only need to say the activation command Hey Siri. In addition, however, AirPods can be controlled by tapping and AirPods Pro can be controlled by pressing. After tapping or pressing one of the AirPods, one of the selected actions can occur - this action can be different for each headphone. To (re)set these actions, go to Settings, where tap on Bluetooth and then on. All you have to do here is open it Left whether Right and choose one of the actions that suits you.

Automatic switching

If you have AirPods 2nd generation or AirPods Pro and also have the latest versions of operating systems installed, you can use the Automatic switching function. This feature should ensure that depending on the use of your Apple devices, the headphones will automatically switch. For example, if you are listening to a video from your Mac and someone calls you on your iPhone, the headphones should switch automatically. But the truth is that the function is definitely not perfect, it could even bother someone. To deactivate it, go to Settings, where you open Bluetooth and then tap on with your AirPods. Then click here Connect to this iPhone and tick If they were connected to the iPhone even last time.

Sound tuning

AirPods are set from the factory so that their sound suits most users. Of course, there are individuals here who may not be satisfied with the sound - because each of us is a little different. The Settings application has a special section where you can adjust the sound balance, voice range, brightness and other preferences, or you can start a kind of "wizard" that makes the setup a little easier. To tune the sound go to Settings, where click below Disclosure. Then get off practically all the way down and open in the Hearing category Audiovisual aids. All you have to do here is click at the top Customization for headphones and make changes, or start the wizard by clicking on Custom sound settings.

Battery status in widget

The AirPods charging case also includes an LED that can inform you about the charging status of the headphones themselves or the charging case. We have attached an article below, thanks to which you can read more about the individual colors and states of the diode. However, it is much more convenient to use a widget, within which you can display the battery status on the iPhone with a numerical value. To add a battery widget, swipe left on the home page to the widgets screen. Scroll down here, tap on edit, and then on the + icon in the upper left corner. Find the widget here Battery, tap on it, choose size, and then simply move to the page with widgets, or directly between applications. In order for the charging status of the AirPods and their case to be displayed in the widget, it is of course necessary that the headphones are connected.
