TV+ offers original comedies, dramas, thrillers, documentaries and children's shows. However, unlike most other streaming services, the service no longer contains any additional catalog beyond its own creations. Other titles are available for purchase or rental here. In this article, we will look together at the news in the service as of 1/9/2021. These are trailers for a music documentary about The Velvet Underground and the musical Come From Away. However, there are also rumors that Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans should reunite in one project.

The Velvet Underground

The Velvet Underground was an American rock group, founded in New York in 1965 and which only existed until 1973. Although the group had virtually no commercial success, it is considered one of the most important and influential groups of the sixties. Music theorist Brian Eno confirmed this when he said that only a few thousand people bought their first album at the time of its release, but almost every one of them started their own band. As the Czech mentions Wikipedia, Andy Warhol was even their manager in the early days of the group.

Apple has released a trailer for an upcoming documentary from director Todd Haynes that traces the band's beginnings and explores the indelible mark they left on the music scene. The documentary tells the story through exclusive interviews with surviving band members John Cale and Moe Tucker, as well as commentary from musician Jonathan Richman and others. If you are not a fan of the band, definitely listen to their biggest hit with a somewhat controversial title Heroin. The premiere of the film is scheduled for October 15.

Come From Away

However, already on September 10 (that is, the day before the 20th anniversary of the attack on the WTC), we will be able to watch the Broadway musical Come From Away on the network, for which the company has currently released a trailer. It is a filmed version of the hit musical of the same name, directed by Christopher Ashley, who also directed the original Broadway version - this film will be a recording of it. The story tells of 7 people stranded in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, after all flights to the US were canceled on September 11, 2001.

Ewan McGregor and Ethan Hawke

Raymond and Ray is a film that follows the fates of two brothers, played by Ewan McGregor and Ethan Hawke. "There's anger, there's pain, there's foolishness, but there can also be love, and there's definitely grave-digging," reads the synopsis straight from Apple. After many years of separation, the two protagonists meet again at their father's funeral. This will be McGregor's second collaboration with an Apple production, the first being a documentary series about an electric bike trip across America. The film does not yet have a set release date.

Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans

Two of the Avengers should meet again on the movie screen. Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans could star in Ghosted, a romantic action film from the writers of Deadpool and director Dexter Fletcher (Rocketman, Bohemian Rhapsody). However, no further information about the plot or tentative premiere date is yet known.
