Got an iPad you don't need? Or do you need an iPad that you don't have?
Today we are launching Blahomat - an iPad rental for a good cause. This is a unique project where we will lend iPads for free to educational and aid organizations, doctors or families with a disabled member, so that they can try the iPad and find out if it is something that makes sense to them. And we need those iPads from you.
Abroad, tablets are experiencing a big boom in the field of education and skill development for the disabled, communities of people are spontaneously emerging that share their experiences with others and advise each other on how to use their full potential. It can be said that a light and durable device, easily controlled by touch, is exactly the right technology that many educators and experts were looking for. In addition to enthusiasts, however, entire institutions and governments began to join. What is unique about the iPad is that there are already 70 educational applications available, and the number of top-notch ones is growing rapidly.
Thanks to the great efforts of several enthusiastic people, the future of iPads in the Czech Republic, especially in special education (www.i-sen.cz), develops much faster than we are used to. The first swallows also appear on basic (ipadschool.webnode.cz) and secondary schools (www.ipadvetride.cz ), after all, Petr Mára already launched a great iPad signpost at school last year (ipadveskole.cz).
Why a rental company?
And how does Blahomat fit into it? We want to be where they need to try the iPad before making a decision. We rent iPads, we don't sell them. We believe in giving people the time and space to find out if iPad is right for them. We want to capture both positive and negative sides in this area. And for that reason, a blog was created as part of Blahomat, where experiences are collected and shared with others.
In order to have something to borrow, we find second-hand iPads. We buy them for the rental office or accept them as a gift, regardless of their age. We got CZK 50 from MITON CZ to get started and bought the first two pieces, which were immediately rented out within 000 minutes. We need more of them! As long as there is money, we will buy out.
Who can borrow an iPad?
We want to offer the acquired iPads for free loan to doctors, families with a disabled member, special schools and a number of other organizations that work in the field of education or help people with disabilities in some way. But Blahomat also applies to regular primary and secondary schools.
What we are interested in is the experience, the way of working with the iPad, the choice of applications, etc. We hope that the rental company will facilitate the decision of a number of people and organizations who are considering their investment in the purchase of an iPad. Likewise, they will benefit from a blog with the experiences of others. We like that they can serve older iPads well and their original owner will know exactly what's going on with the iPad; where and how it helps.
