He came to Apple in 2000 to build the hugely successful Apple Store retail network over the following decade. To date, there are more than 300 brick-and-mortar stores with the bitten apple logo around the world, and each one is signed by Ron Johnson. It was under his leadership that the shops were created. However, Johnson is now saying goodbye to Apple, leaving for JC Penney…
Ron Johnson was vice president of retail sales at Cupertino, in charge of the entire retail strategy, responsible for all things Apple Stores, and reporting directly to Steve Jobs.
Under Johnson's leadership, more than 300 brick-and-mortar stores were created worldwide, with Johnson's years of merchandising and sales experience in planning. Before he came to Apple, he worked in the management of the Target shopping network, where he was also a prominent figure and was responsible for several important events. Johnson also holds an MBA from Harvard University and a BA in economics from Stanford.
He probably didn't miss much at Apple, which is why his departure comes like a bolt from the blue. Ron Johnson chooses the medium-sized chain of department stores JC Penney as his next place of work, and the fact that he really believes in his new job is documented by the fact that he immediately invests 50 million dollars in it from his own pocket.
As the new CEO of the company, Johnson should be introduced on November 1. He always wanted to be an executive director. “I have always dreamed of one day leading a major retail company as CEO, and I am thrilled to have this opportunity at JC Penney. I have tremendous confidence in the future of JC Penney and look forward to working with Mike Ullman, the executive board and the other 150 employees.” stated an excited Johnson.

"He came to Apple in 2010 to build the hugely successful Apple Store retail network over the next decade." Didn't he come in 2001? :)
Or will it be built in 2020? ;) (typo in year)
As far as I can see, it says that he joined Apple in 2000.
Begbie, it must be because they fixed it…
is there any free icq client on iphone that will run in the background without interrupting the connection?
I'm not surprised at him. Apple was probably good, but there wasn't much to push it anymore, so it wants new challenges. Plus, he can be the CEO he always wanted to be.
Mackz: eBuddy for example, it suits me best
Mackz: I recommend eBuddy ;)
