The iPhone 4S should officially go on sale in the Czech Republic from midnight. While last year the main sellers were operators, this time Apple also entered the game with its Online Store. All operators have already laid out their cards. So what are the deals?
T-Mobile
T-Mobile probably pleased its customers the most, at least in terms of subsidized phones. The cheapest iPhone 4S 16 GB will be offered for just 5 CZK. However, the condition is a minimum monthly payment of CZK 499, plus the data package Internet v mobil klasik, which costs CZK 2 per month and offers a rather ridiculous FUP of 300 MB.
As expected, the non-subsidized phone is more expensive than the one offered by the Apple Online Store, by around CZK 16 for the 1 GB version, and even CZK 500 for the 32 GB version. It can therefore be expected that there will be minimal interest in non-subsidized phones from operators. You can see the complete price list in our table:
Explanatory notes:
- MMP – minimum monthly payment in crowns
- Mobile Internet Standard – Data package for CZK 139 per month with FUP 100 MB
- Klasik Mobile Internet – Data package for CZK 239 per month with FUP 300 MB
Although October 28th is a national holiday, it will be possible to purchase the phone at T-Mobile branches, even on the weekend. In addition, T-mobile prepared an interesting T-Run event. There will be special couriers in eight Czech cities (Prague, Brno, České Budějovice, Hradec Králové, Pardubice, Liberec, Ostrava and Plzeň) who will carry a voucher for a free iPhone 4S 16 GB. The first person who manages to catch the courier (by touch) gets it. But this will not be easy, as the couriers are experienced freerunners (similar to parkour) led by Jakub Dohnal.
The event will take place on October 28th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, during which time you have the opportunity to catch your courier. You can find out its location when you navigate with your phone to T-Mobile Facebook page.
Vodafone
We have already written to you about Vodafone prices. The offer is not famous at all, you can get the cheapest iPhone 4S 16 GB with a minimum monthly payment of 2 CZK for 777 CZK, which is only 10 cheaper than the price offered by the Apple Online Store.
Not all prices are available, as Vodafone currently only offers 16 GB and 64 GB versions, but at least we know from before the unsubsidized price of the middle, 32 GB version, which is CZK 18, almost CZK 577 more expensive than Apple's. You can see the overall overview in the following table:
Vodafone will also offer the classic midnight sale in selected stores in three Czech cities (Prague - Wenceslas Square, Brno - Masarykova, Ostrava - Zeyerova). The first 100 customers will receive practical gloves in which all phones with a capacitive display can be controlled.
Vodafone also offers a discount of CZK 500 to those who bring an old mobile phone for recycling (a document for the phone is required). Another option to get a discount of CZK 500 is to choose a data package from the Vodafone offer. And to top it all off, if you participate in the midnight sale, you'll also get a net from the red operator. But the operators are generous, aren't they?
Telefonica O2
Much to our surprise, O2 will not be selling the iPhone 4S at all. He allegedly did not agree with Apple on the terms of sale, which, according to the O2 spokesperson, were disadvantageous for the company. It will probably be difficult for us to find out how it really was, however, we will not receive the iPhone 4S from the oxygen operator. At the same time, O2 will download the current range of Apple phones (iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4).
Apple Store
As a reminder, we will also list the prices of the Czech Apple Store:
- iPhone 4S 16 GB – CZK 14
- iPhone 4S 32 GB – CZK 16
- iPhone 4S 64 GB – CZK 19
Ridiculous, I want to see someone buy an unsubsidized phone from Vodafone or T-Mobile.
Nobody... Operatorum is mainly about selling phone services.
Surely someone does. Does BUDGET say something to you?
It is the money that I provide to companies for the purchase of HW
Yes, I know what a budget is, but I meant normal people, not companies...
I believe that some people are so stupid that they buy it...but I hope there won't be many of them :)
I'll probably buy it from T-Mobile tomorrow... I complained about the phone there and I have the option to choose another one, but they won't refund the money, so I have no other option to take it elsewhere.
So you're a llama who can't enforce your rights. If they complained about it and they offer you a new phone, you automatically have the right to a refund. Look in the Civil Code.
It's clear that I would have already bought it through the Apple Store, if there were any in Slovakia :D But it doesn't matter who has an iPhone 4, so it's useless to buy this one, even Siri will be installed on the ip4, so I see no reason to buy it: )
Can you please tell me how to install siri on ip4????
I personally don't think it's possible.
Well, it's the same as if you claimed that the iPhone 3 was not worth changing for a 3GS, use your head. Just today I changed the 4 to the 4S, it's the bomb, trust me
The difference between 3g and 3gs was huge. The difference between 4 and 4s is really negligible!
I don't know, but I'm probably expecting Siri or some of her colleagues from the jailbreak community ;)
Hello,
where did you get the information about those prices and specifications from tmobile? They don't know anything about it even on the call line, they only have 16 and 64 GB in the e-shop :(
Exactly. The prices on the TM website are completely different
For 32 GB, it's just a leaked price. They don't offer it in the e-shop because Apple hasn't delivered it to them yet.
I wonder where you got the information that O2 won't offer it at all. If the information were to be trusted, I still think it's a bluff on O2's part to force out better terms. Apple can't afford not to sell their latest model with the biggest operator and equally (mostly) O2 can't afford not to offer it because there will be plenty of people willing to switch to the competition and buy it there with a subsidy...
I would give it the next week - max. 14 days and 4S will also be with O2. I kind of hope so... :-)
02 are really crazy. If they were to give it for shopping + something for coffee and they would sell a lot of pieces and get new registered customers and they wouldn't have to pay penalties. Maybe there is something else to it. 02 I don't understand…..
It's definitely a mega mistake!
Try to answer the question: does Apple care about one operator, in one country, who will sell a few tens of thousands of phones at most? If O2 was interested in selling, it would do so because of the competition. My fiction is that the Czech branch of Telefonica wanted to make money with Apple (after all, how it makes money with its customers) and unfortunately it did not succeed. Apple will certainly not lose on this, it will sell the iPhone through its Store. Bito will be O2, because it will lose a few tens or hundreds of customers.
By the way O2 will definitely sell the iPhone.. it's just a marketing ploy! actually FREE advertising for O2!
I personally have ten phone numbers with O2, and the O2 operator charged me an iPhone4S...
It's just ADVERTISING, see for yourself!
