Apple is about to introduce the second generation of its Apple Watch smartwatch. They should arrive in the middle of the year, with a more powerful processor, GPS module, barometer and better waterproofing.

Not much is said about the expected Apple Watch models. They get most of the attention speculation about the new iPhones and the apple watch is not so much emphasized. However, thanks to the information that the company's analyst Ming-Chi Kuo came up with KGI, public interest could increase. Apple is preparing several new products.

On the one hand, according to Kuo, there will be two versions of the watch that will offer more than the current first generation. The new model is to be called the Apple Watch 2 and will include a GPS module and a barometer with improved geolocation capabilities. A higher battery capacity is also expected, but the specific milliampere-hour base is not yet known. In terms of design, they should not differ significantly from their predecessor. Thinning will also not take place.

An interesting addition in Cu's report is that the second model of the watch is supposed to be identical to the current first generation, but will have higher performance thanks to a new chip from TSMC. Allegedly, they are also supposed to be more waterproof, but there is a question as to which model exactly this will apply to.

This year's Apple Watch models will therefore look almost identical to the first generation. Kuo himself said that he expects more radical design and functional changes only in 2018, when not only a new look is to come, but also a better background for developers, especially in terms of health applications.
