David Hanak If you've surfed the web in the past nine months, you've probably registered the huge case that took place earlier this year. In short, Apple is slowing down select iPhone models related to the level of battery wear. After a strong media campaign and considerable user resentment, Apple decided that starts annual service campaign, in the framework of which they will offer a discounted battery replacement to everyone who is entitled to it. However, this promotion ends in less than three months, and given the possible waiting times, now is the best time to start dealing with a potential exchange.
First, let's recall which iPhones this exchange applies to. If you have an iPhone 6 and newer, but you don't have the latest models (i.e. iPhone 8 and iPhone X), you are entitled to a discounted battery replacement at an authorized service center. Discounted in this case means discounted from 79 to 29 dollars (CZK 790). This service operation should be performed at all certified Apple service centers in the Czech Republic. If you want to make an appointment for service, there is nothing easier than doing it through customer support on the Apple website. If you're not sure you want to replace it, there's a tool in iOS that will tell you the health of your battery. Just look into Settings –> Battery -> Battery health and here you will see if a replacement is needed or not.

Dan Pražák Open the website of the Czech mutation of Apple, log in with your Apple ID and go to the section Official Apple support. Here, click on the option in the upper right corner Contacting Support, then Repair order. You will now see the devices that you have connected to your Apple ID account. Select your iPhone, choose subsection in the following menu Batteries and charging and then the option in the following list Battery replacement.
With this item, you can choose whether you want to directly order one of the services available to you, or if you wish to consult the situation only by phone. In the case of the first choice, the search engine will find the nearest authorized service centers based on the location you specified. In some cases, you can arrange a specific time in these services for which you will order. In others, you are dependent on a telephone appointment. After ordering for a specific day and date, you will receive a confirmation message by e-mail that your request has been registered and that they are waiting for you in the service.
As for the repair time, in some places it is done on a waiting list. In the case of more frequent services, battery replacement can take from a few hours to a few days. Due to the solved problems with the availability of spare parts, however, the situation from the end of the year, when waiting periods ranged in the order of weeks, should not be repeated.
I went to the Czech Service with an iPhone 6S, there was an option to replace the battery while waiting, but I was in no hurry and left it to them until the next day and paid 750 CZK.
If I understand it correctly, the waiting times are ok and I can just leave the exchange for December.
