Adam Kos Back to School 2021 is finally here. Apple organizes this Back to School event every year. Its purpose is simple – it wants to enable students, their teachers and other school employees to get a discount on equipment that will be of help to them after their next studies. In addition, if you buy a Mac or iPad as part of the promotion this year, you will get AirPods absolutely free.

The Back to School campaign provides a 6% discount on selected devices, i.e. Macs and iPads, this promotion does not apply to iPhones. In addition, compared to last summer, when Apple added Beats headphones, you can directly get its AirPods, with a slight surcharge, AirPods with a wireless charging case or AirPods Pro. In the case of the first, you pay an additional 999 CZK, in the case of the second, 2 CZK. The discount does not change whether you buy the most expensive Mac or the cheapest iPad. Offer valid from 499 July 16 to 2021 October 11.

Entitlement to a discount
The Back to School event can be used by university students, their parents and employees of educational institutions. Elementary and high school students are out of luck in this case. Applying for a discount is not complicated at all. Just go to Apple website intended for that and choose the product you want to buy. During the whole process, you are not asked for any document to prove that you are a student, a student's parent or a school employee.
- Employees of any educational institution – All employees of public and private educational institutions in the Czech Republic are eligible.
- Tertiary school students – Students who study or are accepted to study at a tertiary education institution in the Czech Republic are eligible.
- Parents of tertiary students – Parents shopping for their children who are already studying or have been accepted for tertiary studies at public or private educational institutions in the Czech Republic are eligible.
But Apple conducts regular audits of customer purchases in the Apple Store for Education. What does it mean? That if it finds that you did not comply with the applicable conditions during the purchase, Apple will charge the full price from the credit card, or send you an invoice for the additional payment. And as you can imagine, if you don't pay, you will be sued in a court of competent jurisdiction, where the losing party is required to pay the winning party's legal fees. It was even rumored at one time that Apple also checks the accounts from which you pay for the device. If the account is a student account, it does not solve anything, if it is not, it takes further steps to identify it.

But you can also shop in brick-and-mortar stores, i.e. in our case at authorized dealers. When you visit in person, you will already have to prove yourself with an ISIC card or a valid study certificate. During one of your academic years, you additionally you cannot purchase more than one Mac computer and one iPad tablet.
