Apple has been doing great for many years, but some quarters are simply more successful than others. An example can be, for example, the second quarter of 2015, which brought the company a record profit. In addition to this success, in today's return to the past we will also remember the Xerox 8010 Star Information System 8010 or the lawsuit against Microsoft.

Xerox 8010 Star Information System (1981)

On April 27, 1981, Xerox introduced its Xerox 8010 Star Information System. It was its first ever commercial system that used peripherals in the form of a computer mouse and other technologies that we take for granted these days. The Xerox 8010 Star Information System was primarily intended for businesses, firms and institutions, and unfortunately it was not a commercial success. The standardization of the computer mouse as a common part of controlling desktop computers was finally taken care of by Apple with its Lisa computer.

The Microsoft lawsuit (1995)

On April 27, 1995, the US Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against Microsoft. The lawsuit was aimed at preventing Microsoft from buying Intuit. According to the Department of Justice, this acquisition could potentially lead not only to higher software prices, but also to a significant slowdown in innovation in the relevant area. Inuit was an American company that developed and sold financial software - products such as TurboTax, Mint and QuickBooks emerged from its workshop.

Successful Apple Quarter (2015)

On April 27, 2015, as part of announcing its financial results for the past quarter, Apple announced that it managed to achieve record quarterly sales. During the second quarter of the mentioned year, the turnover of the Cupertino company reached 58 billion dollars, of which 13,6 billion dollars was profit before taxation. The biggest contribution to this income was the sale of iPhones - the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in particular enjoyed great popularity at the time. iPhone sales accounted for roughly 70% of Apple's total turnover.
