In today's part of our "historical" series, we will talk about two famous technology companies - Microsoft and Apple. In relation to Microsoft, today we remember the announcement of the MS Windows 1.0 operating system, but we also remember the launch of the first generation iPod.

Announcement of MS Windows 1.0 (1983)

On November 10, 1983, Microsoft announced that it planned to release its Windows 1.0 operating system in the near future. The announcement took place at the Helmsley Palace Hotel in New York City. Bill Gates then stated that the new operating system from Microsoft should officially see the light of day during the following year. But everything turned out differently in the end, and the Microsoft Windows operating system was finally officially released in June 1985.

iPod Goes Global (2001)

On November 10, 2001, Apple officially began selling its first-ever iPod. Although it was not the first portable music player in the world, many still consider its arrival to be a very important milestone in the modern history of technology. The first iPod was equipped with a monochrome LCD display, 5GB of storage, providing space for up to a thousand songs, and its price was $399. In March 2002, Apple introduced a 10GB version of the first generation iPod.
