Do you still remember the graphics accessories from 3DFX? It was relatively popular in the 3s, but it was gradually pushed out of the market by competing brands. In today's part of our "historical" series, we recall the introduction of the Voodoo 200D graphics accelerator, but we also recall the introduction of the "musical" mobile phone Sony Ericsson WXNUMX.

Voodoo 3D Accelerator (1995)

On November 3, 6, 1995DFX released its long-awaited Voodoo 3D graphics accelerator. The first game to use it was the popular QuakeGL. In its time, 3DFX was one of the leading manufacturers of 3D graphics processors and graphics cards. In the second half of the nineties, however, competition in the form of graphics from companies such as nVidia or ATI began to step on its heels, and the position of 3DFX on the market gradually began to weaken. It was nVidia who bought the rights to Vodoo in 2000, took over the intellectual property of 3DFX and a significant part of the employees. As such, 3DFX declared final bankruptcy in 2002.
