In today's part of our regular series about important events in the field of technology, after some time we will again talk about the game console - this time it will be about the Sega Dreamcast, which officially went on sale in Japan on November 27, 1998. In addition to the console, we will also mention the Internet browser Explorer 2.0 introduced by Microsoft in 1995.

Dreamcast (1998)

On November 27, 1998, the Sega Dreamcast game console went on sale in Japan. It was one of the first game consoles of the sixth generation. The Sega Dreamcast was intended to represent a more affordable game console, and unlike the Sega Saturn, it used less expensive components. The Dreamcast was also the last game console produced by Sega. Although the game console Sega Dreamcast did not achieve the expected success in terms of sales, it received praise from reviewers. It was possible to play titles such as Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, Phantasy Star Online or Shenmue on the console. Sega discontinued its Dreamcast console in March 2001, having sold a total of 9,13 million units worldwide.

Internet Explorer 2.0 (1995)

On November 27, 1995, Microsoft released its Internet Explorer 2.0 web browser for the Windows 95 and Windows NT 3.5 operating systems. Internet Explorer was based on licensed code from Spyglass Mosaic and offered support for SSL, JavaScript, and cookies. It was also the first version of Internet Explorer that allowed importing bookmarks from Netscape Navigator. MS Internet Explorer was released in a total of twelve languages.
