In today's installment of our regular series on significant events in the history of the technology industry, we will remember, for example, the first "mobile" call. Today also marks the anniversary of the introduction of the iPhone OS 3 operating system or the introduction of Compaq's Armada line of computers.

The first "mobile" call (1946)

On June 17, 1946, the first mobile phone call was made. It happened in St. Louis, Missouri, and the call was made from a car. Teams from Bell Labs and Western Electric collaborated on the development of the relevant technology.

iPhone OS 3.0 released (2009)

Apple released the iPhone OS 17 operating system on June 2009, 3. It was the third major version of the iPhone operating system, and also the last that was not called iOS. iPhone OS 3 offered the system-wide possibility of cutting, copying and pasting, the Spotlight function, expanding the desktop to eleven pages with the possibility of placing up to 180 application icons, MMS support for native Messages and a number of other novelties.
