Most of us today probably listen to music in digital form, whether it is songs purchased on the Internet or using various streaming services. But the collection of more traditional music carriers also has its charm. In today's episode, among other things, we will remember the release of the first commercial CD.

The Dawn of the Music CD (1982)

On August 17, 1982, a music CD by the Swedish group ABBA called The Visitors was released. There would probably be nothing unusual about this fact in itself - if not for the fact that, according to available sources, it was the first "commercial" music CD from the workshop of Royal Phillips Electronics. The CD standard was a joint venture between Phillips and Sony, the aforementioned album was produced in Langenhagen, Germany by Polygram Records, which fell under the aforementioned Royal Phillips Electronics, and went on sale in November of the same year.

AMD processors in DELL computers (2006)

In 2006, Dell announced that it would start using processors from AMD in its Dimension desktop computers, such as the Sempron, Athlon 64 and Athlon 64 X2 processors. In addition to AMD processors, Dell's Dimension series computers also received integrated NVIDIA graphics. The computers went on sale in Europe in the second half of September 2006.
