In today's installment of our regular "historical" roundup, we'll look at two completely different events. The first is the landing of the American space probe Apollo 14 on the moon, which took place in 1971. In the second part of the article, we will recall the first ever online show Victoria's Secret fashion brand underwear In 1999.

Apollo 14 Lands on the Moon (1971)

Apollo 5 landed on the moon on February 1971, 14. It was the third American expedition to the moon, and Apollo 14 crew members Alan Shepard and Edward Mitchell walked on the surface of the moon for four hours. The expedition lasted a total of nine days, and the landing target was supposed to be the mountainous area around the Fra Mauro crater. The launch of Apollo 14 took place on January 31, 1971, and the landing took place very close to the planned location. Apollo 14 was the eighth manned flight of the Apollo space program and the third manned flight to land on the Moon. The main crew consisted of Alan Shepard, Stuart Roosa and Edgar Mitchell.

Victoria's Secret Web Show (1999)

On February 5, 1999, the popular fashion brand Victoria's Secret, famous mainly for its underwear collections, held its first annual online show - it was a presentation of the spring collection. The event attracted around 1,5 million viewers, and despite the certain immaturity of the technology at the time, it was considered one of the first successful public online broadcasts of its kind. The 21-minute show featured supermodel Tyra Banks, for example, and was broadcast on the Victoria's Secret domain, which at the time had only been in operation for less than two months.
