The letters "SP" in the name of this console served as an abbreviation for "Special". The Game Boy Advance SP was the penultimate console that was part of the Game Boy Advance product line.

On March 23, 1928, Jean Sammet, one of the first significant pioneers of computer technology and computer science, was born in New York. Jean Sammet studied at Mount Holyoke College High School, after graduation she entered the University of Illinois, where she eventually began a teaching career. At the beginning of the 20s, she worked at IBM on the development of the FORMAC programming language - it was the first commonly used language for working with algebraic expressions, and she was also the author of the well-known publication Programming Languages: History and Fundamentals. Jean Sammet died on May 2017, XNUMX.
