In today's article, among other things, we will recall the release of new computers of the Tandy TRS-80 product line. These highly popular computers were sold, for example, in the RadioShack chain of stores for electronic enthusiasts. But we also remember the ride of the Lunar Roving Vehicle on the surface of the moon.

New in the Tandy TRS-80 line

On July 31, 1980, Tandy released several new computers in its TRS-80 product line. One of them was the Modell III, which was equipped with a Zilog Z80 processor and equipped with 4 kb of RAM. Its price was 699 dollars (roughly 15 crowns), and it was sold in the RadioShack network. The TRS-600 series computers were sometimes exaggeratedly referred to as "computers for the poor", but they gained great popularity.

A Ride on the Moon (1971)

On July 31, 1971, astronaut David Scott went on a revolutionary and very unusual ride. He drove a lunar vehicle called the Lunar Roving Vehicle (LRV) across the surface of the moon. The vehicle was powered by batteries, and NASA used this type of vehicle repeatedly for the Apollo 15, Apollo 16 and Apollo 17 lunar missions. The last three models of the Lunar Roving Vehicle are still located on the surface of the Moon.
