The history of technology is not only made up of positive events of great importance. As in any other field, more or less serious errors, problems and failures occur in the field of technology. In today's part of our series on significant events in this field, we will recall two negative events - the scandal with Dell laptops and the three-day outage of Netflix.
Dell Computer Battery Problems (2006)
On August 14, 2006, Dell and Sony acknowledged a defect involving batteries in certain Dell laptops. The mentioned batteries were manufactured by Sony, and their manufacturing defect was manifested by overheating, but also by occasional ignition or even explosions. 4,1 million batteries were recalled following the occurrence of this serious defect, the event was preceded by a flood of media reports of cases of Dell laptops catching fire. The damage was so extensive that in some ways Dell has yet to fully recover from the incident.
Netflix Outage (2008)
Netflix users experienced some unpleasant moments on August 14, 2008. The company's distribution center experienced a three-day outage due to an unspecified error. Although the company did not tell users specifically what actually happened, it did announce that the aforementioned error "only" affected the core of the operation dealing with mail distribution. It took Netflix three whole days to get everything back on track.
Hello, I would like some more information about "photos", I think I understand the application, I just don't know (with my skills) when I open, for example, all the photos, whether it is possible to find out for a specific image in which album it is displayed... PS. If you answer me, I don't know where to look for an answer…
Hello, if you mean Photos on Mac, then according to my information (yet) it does not offer the possibility to find out in which album the given photo is in the view of all photos. If you don't have hundreds of albums and tens of thousands of photos in your library, you can try to click through individual albums and check the presence of photos in the previews. I have no idea how it is in macOS Big Sur, Catalina doesn't have this option.
