The value of the Cray X-mp/48 supercomputer was $15 million, and the machine was among the fastest computers in the world at the time. OS/2 Operating System (1987)

On December 4, 1987, the operating system OS / 2 version 1.0 was released. It was software that was originally developed by Microsoft and IBM. led by IBM software engineer Ed Iacobucci. The OS / 2 operating system was intended to serve as the successor to the PC DOS system. The first version of the OS / 2 operating system was text-only, the graphical user interface did not come until a year later with version OS / 2 1.1. IBM did not end support for this system until the end of December 2006.
