Today's installment of our regular series on major tech events will be unusually a little shorter than usual, but that doesn't detract from its interest in any way. We remember the first test of a functional TV broadcast and we also remember the day when Apple officially went under Alphabet.

Telecast (1925)

On October 2, 1925, John Logie Baird conducted the first test of a working television system. The result was a grayscale image transmission of thirty lines and five frames per second. In 1928, Baird also managed to carry out a long-distance transmission from London to New York, and in August 1944 he made history with the introduction of the first color screen. Scottish engineer John Logie Baird was ranked 2002th in the list of the 44 greatest Britons in XNUMX, four years later he was included among the ten greatest Scottish scientists in history.

Google under Alphabet (2015)

On October 2, 2015, Google officially reorganized and went under a new company called Alphabet. Since October 2015, it has officially started to cover Google's activities, including Nest, Google X, Fiber, Google Venture or Google Capital. Sergey Brin became the head of Alphabet, and Sundar Pichai, who was previously in charge of the Android project, took over Google as such.
