Nowadays, probably most of us read our favorite news in electronic form on the web, but there were times when classic printed magazines ruled in this direction. One of them was, for example, Amiga Plus Magazine, the first edition of which we will recall in today's edition of our column Back to the Past. Next, we will talk about the first registered domain - can you guess which one it was?

Amiga Plus Magazine is published (1989)

On March 15, 1989, Antic Software published its first ever issue of Amiga Plus Magazine. It was a double issue for April and May and included, among other things, an Amiga Plus disk containing graphics programs. The articles were about creating graphics on the Amiga, for example, but you could also find game reviews or articles about programming in C++. Amiga Plus Magazine was edited by Nat Friedland, assisted by Arnie Cachelin. Unfortunately, the magazine didn't have a very long life - it stopped being published just two years after its first issue was published.

First domain registered (1985)

On March 15, 1985, the Massachusetts computer company Symbolics registered its own domain name symbolics.com. It was also the first ever registered Internet domain with the ending .com. The mentioned domain is currently owned by an investment company, which uses it mainly for marketing purposes. Remnants of information about Symbolics can still be found on the site today symbolics-dks.com.
