In this regular column, every day we look at the most interesting news that revolves around the California company Apple. Here we focus exclusively on the main events and selected (interesting) speculations. So if you are interested in current events and want to be informed about the apple world, definitely spend a few minutes on the following paragraphs.

Today marks nine years since the father of Apple passed away

Today, unfortunately, we are commemorating a big anniversary. It is exactly nine years since the death of Steve Jobs himself, who succumbed to pancreatic cancer at the age of fifty-six. The father of Apple left us a year after he introduced the very popular iPhone 4S to the world, which was presented on the occasion of the September keynote at Apple's Infinite Loop. Today, therefore, social networks were filled with all kinds of memories and memos about Steve Jobs.

Without Jobs, Apple would not be where it is today. This is the founder himself and a person who, after his return, was able to completely change the direction and bring the company back to prominence. It is Jobs that we can thank for the iPhones that are loved by everyone today and a number of other products that were revolutionary in their own way and inspired a number of other manufacturers.

Apple is working on new Apple TV models along with the controller

The Californian giant hasn't updated its Apple TVs for some Friday. There has been talk for a long time about the arrival of a newer model with a faster chip and also about a redesigned controller. The latest information was provided by the very famous leaker Fudge. According to his information, Apple is investing huge money in its gaming service Apple Arcade, for which it is currently working on two Apple TV models with A12X/Z and A14X chips. At the same time, it also mentions a new driver.

The post goes on to say that we should see full-fledged gaming titles, some of which will even require the A13 Bionic chip. We could find it, for example, in the iPhone 11, the more advanced Pro variant or the cheapest iPhone SE of the second generation. However, what is not clear for now is which controller it will actually be. In this direction, the apple community is divided into two camps. Some expect a game controller directly from the Apple workshop, while others bet on "only" a redesigned controller to control the Apple TV.

We know the performance of the new iPad Air

In September, the Californian giant showed us a brand new and redesigned iPad Air. The new one offers a more elegant design modeled on the iPad Pro, offers a full-screen display, Touch ID technology in the upper power button, and most importantly, the Apple A14 Bionic chip is hidden in its guts. This is a moment that has not been here since the introduction of the iPhone 4S - the latest chip appeared in the iPad even before the Apple phone. Due to this, users are still arguing about the performance of the device. However, over the weekend, Twitter user Ice Universe pointed to an already completed benchmark test of the new iPad, which reveals the aforementioned performance.

Based on the mentioned data, it is evident at first glance that there has been a perfect increase in performance compared to the Apple A13 Bionic chip, which can be found in the aforementioned iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro (Max) or iPhone SE second generation phones. The benchmark test itself is labeled as iPad13,2 with the motherboard J308AP. According to leaker L0vetodream, this designation refers to the mobile data version, although J307AP is the designation of the version with WiFi connection. The six-core A14 Bionic chip should offer a base frequency of 2,99 GHz and 3,66 GB of memory, thanks to which it scored 1583 points in the single-core test and 4198 in the multi-core test.

For comparison, we can mention the benchmark of the A13 Bionic chip, which scored 1336 in the single-core test and "only" 3569 in the multi-core test. However, it is relatively more interesting compared to this year's iPad Pro. It is equipped with an A12Z chip and lags behind the A14 in the single-core test with 1118 points. In the case of the multi-core test, it can easily pocket the others with 4564 points.
