In a social network Twitter an internal company document has been published that reveals more details about the Apple Watch Series 7. These are the ones that Apple is hiding from us on its website for now. We thus know the designation of their chip, as well as the weight and dimensions.

Since Apple did not provide us with any information about the chip included in the novelty, there were some rumors that it is actually the same one included in the Series 6, just with an updated serial number. This is now confirmed by a leaked document. So, even though the chip is labeled S7, and some of its components may have changed slightly due to the larger and lower body, performance should not be affected in any way and it should still be 20% faster than the one in the Apple Watch SE.

Dimensions and weight

However, relatively important information regarding the dimensions and weight of the new product can be read from the document. These are 6 and 40 mm for the Series 44, but the Series 7 will have a body of 41 and 45 mm. They grow by only one millimeter. But since this is a negligible change, Apple could afford backward compatibility of all straps.

Right from the start, the document includes two materials – aluminum and steel. But the titanium version is already included in the scale. Perhaps even Apple itself has no idea how it will actually fare with the watch. Anyway, if we are talking about the aluminum version, it will weigh 32 and 38,8 g, respectively, which is an increase of 1,5 and 2,4 g, respectively. This is probably due to the more robust glass. The steel version remains sapphire. Its weights are 42,3 and 51,5 g, the previous generation weighs 39,7 and 47,1 g. The titanium version of the Apple Watch Series 7 should weigh 37 and 45,1 g, respectively.

Here are the documents mentioned:

Display and endurance

Apple cites smaller bezels and a larger display as the main advantage of the new product. The bezels are thus 1,7 mm wide, 3 mm in the previous generation and the SE model, and 3 mm in the Series 4,5. In the case of an active display, the brightness reaches 1000 nits, if you are not looking at the watch directly, but the display is active, Apple states a brightness of 500 nits. Unfortunately, neither the diagonal nor the resolution of the display can be read here.

As for the individual sensors, there has been no change here, the same applies to the speaker, microphone, or connectivity and the size of the internal storage, which is still 32 GB. But it is interesting that at the keynote Apple mentioned a speaker 50% louder than the Series 3. Now it does not specify this fact in any detail. Apple Watch Series 7 should last for 18 hours, while the novelty is fast charging, where you reach 80% of the battery in 45 minutes. The Series 6 is said to reach 100% charge in an hour and a half. This mention, for example, is completely missing from the Apple Watch SE.

This is at least a decent disclosure of the many questions surrounding the Apple Watch Series 7. However, at the end of the document, Apple still states that all specifications are subject to change without notice. But why not believe them when they actually look really realistic. Now it would like to know the actual size of the display, its resolution, and above all the total height of the watch. The entire Series 7 is more about changing the design than adding new features.
