Apple Pay is considered the most popular payment method by many apple sellers. In the final, there is nothing to be surprised about. Paying through Apple Pay is extremely simple, fast and intuitive - simply attach your iPhone or Apple Watch to the appointment, confirm the payment using Face ID/Touch ID, and we're practically done. For example, we don't even have to bother entering a PIN. That is exactly why we wondered whether this Apple payment method can be objectively considered the most popular, or whether it is just a kind of popularity that drowns out the opinions of others.

For this reason, we prepared a short questionnaire, which practically did not deal with anything else - only with which payment method the respondents prefer. The questionnaire was shared only through our article, and therefore the entire investigation was primarily attended by the local Apple community. So let's take a look at the results themselves and decide once and for all which payment method is really the most popular among apple growers.

Is Apple Pay the most popular payment method?

A total of 469 respondents took part in the questionnaire survey, and practically only one question was waiting for them. Through this, we investigated which payment method the given person prefers. The choice was between cash, card (inserted into the terminal or contactless), Apple Pay, or the option of paying with a phone with the Android operating system. However, as we mentioned above, since the questionnaire was shared primarily with the Apple community, we cannot even count on the fact that many respondents would choose the last option - which was also confirmed in the final. Out of all 469 respondents, a total of 442 people (94,2%) marked the Apple Pay option. The dominance of the apple payment method was clearly confirmed in the first question, and it became clear that it is the clear leader among apple buyers.

In second place was contactless payment by card (holding the card to the terminal), on which 14 respondents (3%) agreed. Subsequently, 7 more people (1,5%) prefer to pay in cash, and only 6 people (1,3%) chose to pay by phone with the Android operating system. It is also interesting that no one mentioned the possibility of traditional payment by card, i.e. inserting the card into the terminal and then entering the PIN code.

The next part of the questionnaire was then shown only to people who prefer Apple Pay, in which she examined how satisfied they were with the service. On a scale from 0 (worst) to 6 (best), respondents could mark how satisfied they were with the Apple payment method, or how much they were comfortable with it. It is probably not surprising that the overwhelming majority marked the value 6, indicating maximum satisfaction. 393 respondents specifically agreed on this. After that, another 43 respondents marked the option 5 and only 6 respondents chose the value 4. None of them rated it worse.

Of course, it is also good to know why many Apple users actually prefer Apple Pay. An optional question was used for this, where the respondents could briefly write what they like most about the apple payment method and why they prefer it the most. Even in this case, it is probably not surprising that the answers were more or less constantly repeated. The optional question was answered specifically by 227 respondents, who praised speed and simplicity most often. As we mentioned right at the beginning, using Apple Pay is extremely intuitive - just press twice and you can pay (just attach and confirm). The overwhelming majority of all participating respondents agreed on this. However, some also emphasized safety. In the results, it also appeared several times that many people don't even carry a wallet, or they don't have to bother looking for a payment card. Practically everyone has a phone or a watch with them these days.

Respondents

It is also interesting to see which respondents actually took part in our survey. The absolute majority were men, there were a total of 437 (93,2%) of them, while only 32 (6,8%) were women. But as far as age is concerned, it was much more spread out here. Many people might expect that young people in particular would be inclined to pay by phone. However, with regard to the mentioned results, this is not true. The largest group consists of respondents aged 27 to 40, of whom there were 188 (40%). This is followed by people aged 1-41 with a total of 65 respondents (159%) and 33,9-18 with 26 respondents (92%). Minors are in the minority with 19,6 respondents (17%) and people over 3,6 with 65 respondents (13%).

Leaving aside residence, the questionnaire also examined the status of individual respondents. In total, 303 (64,6%) of them are employees, 84 (17,9%) entrepreneurs/self-employed and 61 (13%) students. The minority is again made up of pensioners with 17 respondents (3,6%) and the unemployed with 4 respondents (0,9%).
