Many Apple users have been asking one question for a long time, or why Apple hasn't introduced its own game controller yet? It's quite strange, especially when you consider that you can play decent games on, for example, iPhones and iPads, and the Mac is not the worst, although it lags far behind its competition (Windows). Even so, Apple's gamepad is nowhere to be seen.

Despite this, Apple directly sells compatible drivers on its Online Store. The menu includes the Sony PlayStation DualSense, i.e. the gamepad from the current Sony PlayStation 5 console, and the Razer Kishi directly for the iPhone. We can still find a number of other models in various price categories on the market, which can even be proud of the MFi (Made for iPhone) certification and are therefore fully functional in connection with apple phones, tablets and computers.

Driver directly from Apple? Rather not

But let's go back to our original question. At first glance, it would be logical if Apple offered at least a basic model of its own, which could perfectly cover the needs of all casual gamers. Unfortunately, we don't have anything like that at our disposal and we have to make do with the competition. On the other hand, it is also necessary to ask whether a gamepad from the workshop of the Cupertino giant would be a success at all. Apple fans are not really fond of gaming and honestly don't even have the opportunity.

Of course, an argument can be made that the Apple Arcade gaming platform is still offered. It offers several exclusive titles that can be played on Apple devices and enjoy undisturbed gaming. In this direction, we also come across a minor paradox - some games even directly require a game controller. Even so, the motivation for developing your own gamepad is (probably) low. Let's pour some pure wine. The Apple Arcade service, although it looks good at first glance, is not so successful and few people actually subscribe to it. From this point of view, it can also be concluded that developing your own driver is probably not even worth talking about. In addition, as we all know Apple very well, there are concerns that its gamepad is not unnecessarily overpriced. In that case, of course, he would not be able to keep up with the competition.

Apple is not targeting gamers

One more factor plays against the Cupertino giant. In short, Apple is not a company that focuses on gaming. So even if an Apple gamepad existed, the question remains whether customers would prefer a controller from a competitor that is well known in the world of game controllers and has managed to build a solid reputation over the years. Why even buy a model from Apple in such a case?

At the same time, however, it is necessary to take into account the second possibility, that is, that the Apple gamepad will actually come and move gaming on Apple devices several steps forward. As mentioned above, iPhones and iPads today already have solid performance, thanks to which they can also be used to play great-looking games such as Call of Duty: Mobile, PUBG and many others.
