Today, Macs mainly benefit from the excellent interweaving of hardware and software. The lion's share of this is due to the transition from Intel processors to a proprietary solution in the form of Apple Silicon, thanks to which the aforementioned consistency is even better. Although in terms of software equipment, Apple computers are above average, there is still a lot of room for improvement. That's why various ideas for improvement often appear among apple users, among which the addition of a touch screen, the improvement of some native applications, or even Apple Pencil support resonates.

Apple Pencil on Mac

In theory, Apple Pencil support for Macs might not be harmful at all, or rather for MacBooks. Graphic artists and designers, who until now rely on, for example, graphics tablets, could benefit from this gadget. But adding support of such dimensions is not just a matter of a software update – such a change would require some development and funding. Apparently, the panel itself would have to change so that it could respond to touch. Practically, we would get a MacBook with a touch screen, which as we all know is rather unrealistic. Apple addressed this topic and the result of testing was that a laptop with a touch screen is not exactly twice as pleasant to use.

But what to do a little differently? In this respect, the Californian giant could be based on the already popular graphics tablets, which enjoy considerable popularity among the target group. They offer precision and significantly simplify the work in question. If we think about it in addition, Apple already has everything necessary in purely theoretical terms - it has both the Apple Pencil and the Trackpad available, which could serve as a base in this regard. Force-touch, a technology that makes the trackpad able to respond to pressure, could certainly be a huge advantage.

Could the trackpad be used for these purposes?

Apple Pencil as a graphics tablet

Now the question is how much changes Apple would have to make to turn its trackpad in combination with the Apple Pencil into a reliable and practical graphics tablet. As we mentioned above, at first glance it may seem that it already has everything it needs. But nothing is as simple as it might seem at first glance. Whether we will ever see something similar is in the stars, but rather this speculation seems unlikely. Practically no legitimate source has ever informed about it.
