Gone are the days when platformers were the most sought-after games. Looking at today's gaming industry, it may seem that such games no longer have a place in today's world. However, among the pile of shooters, battle royale and RPG, once in a while a diamond in the rough appears, which reminds us of the times when Crash, Ratchet or Spyro ruled the consoles. One of the first such pieces that nostalgically recalls years gone by was Yooka-Laylee from Playtonic Games.

Yooka-Laylee, like most legendary platformers, focuses on a pair of heroes, in this case Yooka the lizard and Laylee the bat. Following the example of their predecessors, they then move through beautifully colored levels inhabited by a number of even more colorful characters. During their journey, the mismatched duo must thwart the plans of the evil Capital B, who is trying to collect all the books and turn them into a net profit. Yes, the game doesn't try too hard to hide its criticism of capitalism.

In addition, you can take Yook and Laylee on this entire, approximately fifteen-hour, trip as two players. The co-op mode works throughout the entire story, so you don't have to jump to another game mode. And to keep you entertained with all the jumping and collecting of various objects, Yooka-Laylee sprinkles a whole series of mini-games, boss fights and special tricks into its gameplay that you can only play in multiplayer mode.
