Apple Watch is considered the king in the field of smart watches. In addition, during their existence, they went through a fairly extensive development, when Apple bet on a number of quite a few interesting functions and gadgets. The watch is therefore not only used for monitoring physical and sports performances or sleep, or for displaying incoming notifications. At the same time, it is a capable helper with regard to human health.

Especially in recent generations, Apple has focused a bit more on health features. We thus received a sensor for measuring the ECG, oxygen saturation in the blood or a sensor for measuring body temperature. At the same time, we certainly must not forget to mention the important functions thanks to which the watch can automatically alert the user in case of an irregular heart rhythm, in case of increased noise in the room/environment, or can automatically detect a fall from a height or a car accident and immediately call for help.

Apple Watch and their focus on health

As we mentioned above, Apple is increasingly focusing on the health of its users when it comes to the Apple Watch. It is precisely in this direction that the Apple Watch is making quite significant progress and is enjoying one innovation after another. On the other hand, the truth is that some of these gadgets did not even surprise many fans. In the apple-growing community, there has been talk for years about the potential deployment of a sensor for measuring blood oxygen saturation or temperature, for example, it was already talked about a few years ago, and according to a number of leaks and speculations, it was only a matter of time before we would see this news. However, there is also another news that has the potential to move the Apple Watch several steps forward.

We are talking about a sensor for non-invasive blood sugar measurement. The Apple Watch would thus receive the same option that regular glucometers provide, but with one huge and very fundamental difference. It would not be necessary to take a blood sample for the measurement. In an instant, the Apple Watch could become an extremely helpful companion for people with diabetes. The arrival of this news has been talked about for a long time, and at the same time, it is the last publicly promoted improvement that has been talked about recently - if we leave aside the mentioned news that is already present in the new Apple Watch.

When is the next major upgrade coming?

It is therefore not surprising that the apple watch community is discussing when the Apple Watch will receive the mentioned function for measuring blood sugar. In the past, there have even been reports that Apple has a fully functional prototype at its disposal. In addition, we have recently received fresh news, according to which we will have to wait for the final implementation of the news some Friday. According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, Apple still needs a lot of time to fine-tune the sensor and the necessary software, which could take three to seven years.

This opens another discussion among apple growers. What news will Apple come up with in the meantime before we get a sensor for measuring blood sugar? The answer to this question is unclear for now, and it will therefore be very interesting to see what Apple will show off in September or in the coming years.
