The world of technology currently lives on a single date, today. Apple's keynote with the presentation of iPhone 19 and Apple Watch Series 14, or Pro and AirPods Pro of the 8nd generation, is scheduled for 2:XNUMX our time. But you certainly know that, just like Google, which is trying to make the most of it.

Apple is simply feared by every major manufacturer of modern technologies – smartphones, smart watches and TWS headphones. The biggest player in the field of mobile phone sales, Samsung presented its folding models Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4 at the beginning of August. To give them the attention they deserve before everyone is only interested in iPhones. But he also added the Galaxy Watch5 Pro and Galaxy Buds2 Pro, i.e. direct competition for the impatiently awaited Apple products.

But Google didn't make it. Back in May, as part of its Google I/O conference, which is essentially a lighter copy of Apple's WWDC, it showed the world the first images of both its Pixel 7 and its Pixel Watch, i.e. its first smart watch. At that time, however, he mentioned that their full-fledged performance will not come until the fall of this year. Now, just one day before the Apple event, he announced that this important date for him will be October 6.

Google had little choice

The timing of the announcement itself is of course not a coincidence but rather an intention. Google tried to make at least a little profit from the popularity of iPhones and Apple Watch and the upcoming Far Out event. So he tried to fit in among all the information about the upcoming Apple products, so that at least a little bit could be heard about him. Not only tomorrow, but also for the following days, he would clearly be overwhelmed by the information acquired from the keynote, details of the new iPhones and Apple Watch, and the fact that he is about to present his new products, the form of which we actually already know, would not really interest anyone.

As soon as the new Apple products start to be sold, of course nothing else will be talked about, so it was not possible to announce the date and it is quite appropriate to announce it before the Apple one. The question, of course, is how much space will be devoted to Google products after October 6, when the world will be overwhelmed with tests and reviews of Apple's news, regardless of the fact that we expect another autumn keynote from Apple, which should revolve around iPads and Mac computers.

Maybe Google just wanted to reserve "its" term, hoping that Apple wouldn't cross it. However, since it is Thursday, it is not very likely, because Apple plans its events for Monday/Tuesday, when today's Wednesday is more of an exception due to Monday's Labor Day in the US. After all, maybe that's why it's Thursday, because there's still a risk that Apple will hold another event either on October 3 or 4. It is also important to organize the event as soon as possible not only because of the Christmas season, but also because of the impending recession.

Second chip, first watch

However, if we look at the upcoming Google news objectively, they should not be underestimated in any way. Pixel 7 and 7 Pro should bring 6,4 and 6,71" OLED displays with a refresh rate of 90 and 120 Hz, a 50 MPx main camera, an IP68 degree of protection and, above all, the second generation Tensor chip, which has the potential for Apple's A-marked chips in the future at least heat decently.

As far as the Pixel Watch is concerned, even Google has understood with smart watches that there is no need to equip them with the latest technological achievements in times of a chip crisis, and that's why they reached for the Samsung Exynos 9110 chipset from 2018. But whether it's not too old a chip remains to be seen . However, since this is the manufacturer's first attempt in the field of smart watches, it should be given due attention. Samsung then used last year's chip in the Galaxy Watch5, the same is expected from Apple in its Apple Watch Series 8.
