Huawei founder: Apple's ecosystem is great, I still buy iPhones for my family

Relations between China and the US have been very tense in recent weeks. The situation is certainly not helped by the actions of the US government, which over the weekend decided to impose very restrictive sanctions on the Chinese company Huawei, which we already wrote about once. This action has sparked quite strong anti-American sentiment in China, which is largely directed against Apple. Therefore, it is rather surprising how positively the founder of Huawei spoke about the American technology giant.

The founder and director of Huawei, Ren Zhengfei, said in one of the recent interviews that he is a big fan of Apple. The information was announced on Tuesday during a broadcast on Chinese state television.

The iPhone has a great ecosystem. When my family and I are abroad, I still buy them iPhones. Just because you like Huawei doesn't mean you have to love their phones.

They also talk about the fact that the family of one of the richest Chinese prefers Apple products recent case the detention of the daughter of the owner of Huawei in Canada. She had almost the complete product range of Apple with her, from the iPhone, the Apple Watch to the MacBook.

The Chinese media reproduce the above-mentioned interview as a kind of effort to calm the situation, as the hostile mood towards Apple in China is growing. Apple is seen here as an extension of American influence and the American economy, so the call for a boycott is a reaction to the inconveniences led by the US.

Even though Huawei has an extremely strong position in China, the initial negative attitudes towards Apple are also not completely out of place. Primarily because Apple is doing quite a lot in China. Whether it's the more than five million manufacturing jobs for Apple, or the next steps by Tim Cook et al., who to a greater or lesser extent accommodate the Chinese regime in order to operate in this market. Whether it's good or bad is up to you. In any case, it is expected that Apple will emerge from the current situation as a damaged one, because at the moment it does not have much of a bed of roses in China.
