The HomePod wireless and smart speaker is certainly one of the most controversial products that Apple has released in recent years. The relatively high price and currently very limited capabilities have caused that there is not as much interest in the novelty as they expected at Apple. There is information coming from abroad that the number of stocks is constantly increasing as customer interest decreases. Apple also had to respond to this trend, which reportedly reduced the number of orders.

In February, the HomePod initially seemed to have a very good footing. The reviews were really positive, many reviewers and audiophiles were really surprised by the HomePod's musical performance. However, as it turns out now, the market capacity has most likely been filled, as sales are weakening.

To a large extent, the fact that the HomePod is currently not as smart as Apple presents it can also be behind this. Aside from the absence of some very important features that will come later in the year (like pairing two speakers, independent playback of several different speakers via AirPlay 2), the HomePod is still quite limited even in normal situations. For example, it is not able to find and tell you the route or you cannot make a call through it. Similarly, searching through Siri on the Internet is limited. Absolute intertwining with Apple's ecosystem and services is just the imaginary icing on the cake.

The lack of interest on the part of users means that the delivered pieces are piling up in the warehouses of the sellers, which the manufacturer Inventec churned out with a relatively high intensity that corresponded to the initial interest. At the moment, however, it seems that most customers in this segment are reaching for cheaper options from the competition, which, although they do not play as well, can do much more.
