Apple's AirPods have been with us for almost five years. During this time, the product was able to win the sympathy of a wide range of apple growers, who were able to fascinate them mainly due to the excellent connection with the apple ecosystem. In addition, AirPods are constantly being talked about as a bestseller. But now it seems that enthusiasm for the product is starting to wane, which is what the portal is now talking about Nikkei Asia citing its apple supply chain resources.

This is what the upcoming AirPods 3 should look like:

According to their information, sales of AirPods fell by 25 to 30 percent. The aforementioned sources told the portal that Apple currently expects 75 to 85 million units sold for 2021, which is a significantly lower number compared to the original prediction. Originally, roughly 110 million pieces were expected. This change therefore points to a considerably reduced demand and interest on the part of apple growers. In any case, a similar move could easily have been expected. Since the introduction of the product in 2016, sales have been steadily increasing and it is not for nothing that they say that nothing lasts forever. This decline is allegedly due to the ever more popular wireless headphones from competing manufacturers.

Although this is not exactly a pleasant situation for the Cupertino giant, they do not need to worry (for now). Apple still maintains its dominant position in the so-called True Wireless headphone market, despite the fact that its market share has been declining in recent months. This follows from the portal's claims Counterpoint, who claimed in January 2021 that over the past 9 months, "apple market share" had fallen from 41 percent to 29 percent. Even so, this is more than double the share of Xiaomi, which holds the second position in this market. Third place belongs to Samsung with a 5% share.
