The puzzle adventure game Myst became an unexpected hit at the time of its release. When it was first aimed exclusively at MacIntosh computers in 1993, no one had any idea how long this interesting game had ahead of it. In the twenty-eight years of its existence, it has seen a number of ports and remakes. The last one, which interests us the most today, was originally released last year, exclusively for the Oculus Quest VR headset. Now, the remake of the quarter-century-old game will also take a look at macOS.

Myst was rebuilt from the ground up by Cyan Worlds Inc. Just not when it comes to a project intended primarily for playing in virtual reality. But you can run the remastered version of the classic even on a completely classic setup on a normal monitor. In addition to the content of the original era, in the remastered version of the game, in addition to new graphics models, you can also completely new sounds, interactions and randomly generated puzzles. Simply a number of things that the creators could not afford due to the limitations of the now ancient original hardware at the time of the creation of the original game.

In terms of gameplay, the remaster otherwise remains faithful to the original game from the nineties. So you are dropped on a strange, fantastic island, where a lot of mysterious puzzles await you. When you successfully solve them, four gates to other worlds will gradually open for you, which will reveal the mystery of the game world's past. If you want to have fun with a game proven for decades, Myst is a safe bet. Especially if you also own a virtual reality headset.
