Patrik Pajer Small World is a phenomenal board game that has captivated more than one passionate player. Although the game was not released in an official Czech translation in our country, the success of its English-speaking version gave birth to, for example, a special edition of Small World of Warcraft, which sets the board game in the environment of the well-known online game. The game is certainly worth a try, but in today's situation, one cannot usually meet enough people to organize a game session. A digital version of Small World may be the solution. And what is Small World all about? The concept is simple. The game board presents a fantasy world inhabited by a number of different fantasy races. The problem is that, as the game's name suggests, the world is too small for everyone. Thus, only one of the civilizations can win in its full control. At the beginning of the game, you choose two and combine them with one of twenty unique abilities, which will de facto determine how you approach world domination. There are a total of fourteen races to choose from, which, together with the combination with abilities, guarantees that you will not get bored even after playing it multiple times.
During the campaign itself, you then lead your civilizations to victory by occupying squares on the game board and pushing others out. An interesting mechanic of Small World is the ability to send your own civilization into decline and strategically start building another in the middle of the game. This will sometimes give you more of an advantage than just expanding with a long overdue community. Small World can be played by up to five players, you can also train alone against artificial intelligence.
