February 6 marks the anniversary of the day Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak decided to leave his company to pursue his own goals. Wozniak's departure from Apple occurred in the same year when Steve Jobs also left, who then decided to start his own company. At that time, Apple was undergoing rapid and significant changes, both in the operation of the company, as well as in the personnel composition and overall approach to business. Wozniak was not very happy with these changes.

At the outset, it should be noted that Steve Wozniak never made a secret of the fact that the image of Apple as a giant corporation was not very good for him. Unlike Jobs, he was most content in the company when it was not yet very large, and when instead of marketing and advertising, he could really devote himself to one of his greatest passions - computers and computing as such. Steve Wozniak, in his own words, was always best working in a smaller team of engineers where he could build computers, and the more Apple grew, the less Wozniak felt at home there. During his time at the company, he managed to accumulate enough wealth to be able to devote himself to various activities, which included, for example, the organization of his own music festival.

In the mid-128s, Wozniak also felt resentful of the lack of respect that the team responsible for the Apple II computer had to contend with. According to Wozniak, this model has been unfairly sidelined. When Steve Jobs introduced the first Macintosh 50K, Apple managed to sell 52 units within three months, while the Apple IIc sold a respectable XNUMX units in just twenty-four hours. These factors, along with a number of others, led to Wozniak's final decision to leave Apple gradually maturing.

After his departure from the company, however, he was not idle in the slightest. He worked on a number of technological concepts, including a universal programmable remote control, and together with his friend Joe Ennis founded his own company, which he named CL 9. From its workshop, the CL 1987 CORE remote control emerged in 9. After his departure from Apple, Steve Wozniak also threw himself into studies again - he completed his degree at the University of California, Berkeley, under a false name. However, Wozniak did not lose his connection with Apple by any chance - he continued to be a shareholder in the company and received an annuity. In the mid-nineties of the last century, he also returned for a while as a consultant.
