Beats 2015 music radio station was officially launched at the end of June 1. The station played twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, and was part of the music streaming service Apple Music. Beats 1 features music from top DJs and popular artists, and Apple has named Beats 1 the biggest radio station in the world.

The origins of the Beats radio station date back to 2014, when Apple made a three billion dollar acquisition of Beats. With this acquisition, the Cupertino company gained access to the complete brand and everything related to it, and gradually began to build the foundations for its music streaming service Apple Music. According to Zane Lowe, one of its first DJs, the deadline for launching the Beats 1 station itself was practically a gallows - the team responsible had to build everything necessary in just three months.

The Beats 1 station has certainly not faltered since its launch. Part of her broadcast included interviews with leading figures in the music industry and various celebrities, with a predominance of names from the hip-hop field. Media reactions to Beats 1's content have been mixed, with some accusing Apple of giving too much space to hip-hop, others complaining that the announced non-stop service wasn't really non-stop because the content was often repeated. Apple has not actively promoted its radio station - unlike the Apple Music service itself - very actively.

Unlike Apple Music, you don't need a subscription to listen to Beats 1. Although the company has also acquired trademarks for the Beats 2, Beats 3, Beats 4 and Beats 5 stations, it currently only operates Beats 1. At the moment, the Beats 1 station offers non-stop live music hosted by DJs in Los Angeles, New York and London. Users have the option not only to listen live, but also to play individual programs from the archive.
