Apple reached out to Europe for another interesting boost. Following the arrival of Angela Ahrendts last year, he was now scouting for musical talent in British waters and BBC Radio 1 had acquired Zan Lowe. This could be a significant boost in development new music services California company.

The New Zealand DJ worked for the BBC station for twelve years and comes to Apple by following The Guardian work on the "new iTunes Radio service", which by all accounts could be the new streaming service that Tim Cook and his colleagues are planning to build on the foundations of Beats Music.

One of the strengths of Beats Music is how the service can tailor music content to each user, and it should also be one of the strengths of the brand new Apple-branded service. Zane Lowe should now also contribute to the improvement of similar algorithms.

During his time at BBC Radio, Lowe became famous for his search for talent and helped the likes of the Arctic Monkeys, Adele and Ed Sheeran to the top, whose compositions he referred to as "the hottest records in the world". A flair for talent and curation of popular playlists are some of Low's skills that will surely be put to good use at Apple.

Zane Lowe will be on Radio 1 for the last time on March 5, after which he and his family will move overseas and his show will be hosted by Annie Mac. “I would like to thank everyone at Radio 1 for their support and friendship. The station has allowed me to share incredible music with the best music fans in the country,” said Lowe.

“I loved every minute of it. Exciting times lie ahead of me now," added Lowe, obviously enjoying the new challenge. He has contacts with the best people in the industry from his work, which could prove to be another important part in composing the new music service at Apple. Similar connections are also boasted by Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine, who joined Apple last year from Beats, are now very likely involved in the development of Beats Music's successor.

According to the latest reports, Apple should release its new service by the middle of this year and he has big ambitions with her.
