Users of older iOS devices and older Apple TVs will not be happy with the news that Google and its owned YouTube have come up with. The official YouTube app now requires iOS 7 or later to run. Users who have not yet installed this system, or simply cannot install it because they have a device older than iPhone 4, will not launch the YouTube application. They will now have to access the largest video portal through an internet browser. Fortunately, it is under their address m.youtube.com at least the mobile version of the site is available.
Unfortunately, Apple TV 1st and 2nd generation users will also no longer be able to use the YouTube app. However, with a special set-top box from Apple, there is no alternative way to visit YouTube. Therefore, the owners of the second generation Apple TV, of which there are still many, will pay in particular. The second generation Apple TV does not lose much to the latest third generation, which only adds support for 1080p resolution.
The solution for owners of older Apple TVs is to connect a device with iOS 7 or later via AirPlay and then mirror the content from the YouTube application.
Users of those devices that have recently lost their YouTube support will notice the change thanks to a video introducing them to the new situation. They will be shown an informational clip instead of the video they wanted to play. The end of YouTube applications on older devices comes for a simple reason: YouTube has moved to the new Data API and is no longer supporting version 2. The newer version, on the other hand, is not supported by older Apple devices.

I guess ads with high resolution are poorly displayed on older iPhones, so the user needs to be forced to buy a better display :D
google shit showed up again..
At least you could have written here why this is so. The two users below me would spare us their useless comments.
The reason is the transition to the newer YouTube api version 3, which Apple supports only from iOS 7.
On the LG TV from 2010, Youtube works without restrictions for the time being, although the video also appeared there, but so did the others, as before.
Tried several times, some neighbors with newer TVs bought after 2012 have already lost Youtube. So, I hope we will pass the limitation.
