Dan Pražák Apple Music and Spotify have new competition here. YouTube Music arrived in the Czech Republic today – a music streaming service from YouTube that offers several specific functions and probably has the widest range of content of all. Along with it came the YouTube Premium service, i.e. premium YouTube without ads, with the ability to download videos and other benefits.
YouTube Music works on the same principle as Spotify - it's basically free, but with ads. Se Premium membership you get the ability to listen to music without ads, in the background and in offline mode. You can try the service for free for one month, each additional month costs CZK 149, and in the case of a family membership (for up to 6 people), the monthly fee is set at CZK 229.
On iOS, the fees are unfortunately higher – probably due to Apple's commission – and an individual membership costs CZK 199 and a family membership costs CZK 299 per month.

If you subscribe to Google Play Music, you automatically get access to YouTube Music Premium for the same price. Google Play Music is not changing in any way, and users will still have access to purchased music and favorite playlists.
YouTube's music streaming service certainly has a lot to offer. The search is especially sophisticated, when it is not necessary to write the specific name of the artist, album or song, but just "that football song from Africa"Or"the French one from Tata Boys” and the application can handle everything - even if you write part of the song text wrong. Also interesting is the Mix feature, which creates a playlist based on your preferences every day and automatically downloads it to your phone for offline playback on the go.
YouTube Music even selects music based on your location and recommends playlists based on that. In addition to songs and albums from the extensive catalogs of music companies, Google is also betting on the content it has available within YouTube. There are various rarities that cannot be found in other streaming services, or recordings from live performances and the like. Thanks to this, there is no need to rely only on listening, but you can also switch to video at any time and enjoy a video clip or a concert recording of the song in question.

But it doesn't end with YouTube Music. Starting today, YouTube Premium is also available in the Czech Republic, with which you can watch all videos on YouTube without ads, download them for offline viewing and let them play in the background. In addition, this will give you priority access to shows and movies from the YouTube Originals workshop, including the famous series Cobra Kai, Origin, Wayne, F2 Finding Football or Weird City.
