Recently, YouTube is one of the most popular platforms used not only by adults, but often by children as well. Google, which owns YouTube, has therefore created a specific YouTube Kids application for children, even the smallest, to watch videos safely. The good news is that the application is now also coming to the Czech Republic and, in the case of iOS, is available for both iPhone and iPad.

More than 160 billion views, tens of millions of downloads and over 14 million active users per week - these are the numbers that YouTube Kids can be proud of around the world. The application is tailor-made for children, showing them not only unique video content aimed at entertainment and learning, but above all offers several safety features, thanks to which younger viewers do not click on inappropriate content. There are also several tools for parents to control which videos and channels their children can watch and for how long.

Parents can create up to 8 child profiles in YouTube Kids with different settings and decide whether to allow a specific child to search or possibly limit the selection to only a certain group of videos. Due to the focus on the finest, the application offers a simple and intuitive interface. Children who can't read yet can search by voice. Parents, on the other hand, can use the Timer function, which automatically locks the application after the set limit has expired.

The videos themselves are then divided into Shows, Music, Learning and Explore sections. Parents can choose from collections created directly by the YouTube Kids team, but also by external partners. You can choose from Smurf Adventures until Fireman Sam or songs Luck and Buds. Older children can, for example, thanks to the channel Mark Valášek easily get acquainted with the basics of mathematics.

YouTube Kids is one of the tools Google uses to help families set healthy digital rules. Another example is an application family link, which allows parents to get an overview of how much time their children spend on digital devices, in which applications, set limits, or have an overview of their location.
